Fadjroel Rahman - anti-corruption activists , independent candidate for
President in 2009
On Oct. 28 , just 81 years Youth Pledge , student leaders Bandung Institute of
Technology , 1978 , M Fadjroel Rachman , who once languished in Sukamiskin LP ,

This is the second declaration Fadjroel as a presidential candidate (candidates

The democratic process is important , in my opinion , is dialogue , there are

In my opinion , political parties are supposed to first select the members who
fought in the election . However , it is not a political party choose the best
candidate , but handed over to the community so that the result of selection
like this . In fact , people do not have strong democratic education when
choosing .
Why is that ?
I guess because of political education in Indonesia or democracy , as I said ,
the new " one degree above zero " . That is , as if democracy is to
exist after we are free from the clutches of the New Order , which is to
establish political parties and hold elections .
However , there is no strong teachings against their rights , namely civil
rights , how people recognize that if the mind is a voice of freedom and what
it voiced the basic interests .
So , who fought for democracy only procedural . However , the core of democracy
, namely the defense of civil rights , political rights , economic rights ,
social rights , and cultural rights , it does not happen . As a result , they
choose people and not the people or the representatives of the people who want
to defend the basic rights of the fifth course .
In the 11 years of reform , democracy education or basic rights education was
relatively new . While our democracy hijacked individuals antidemocratic .
Those people who are entrenched during the totalitarian regime of the New Order
. This is what " imprison " the faction in the House . In fact ,
should the democratic actors who have to fill five arena , the arena of
politics , economics , business community , civil society , bureaucracy , and
legal arenas . Democracy can only work if the five regions filled by democratic
actors .
Why do not we run a substantial democracy ?
Like a school , we are still first class . In fact , yesterday when we had the
chance and reform the golden opportunity to run a basic right . Momentum when
it is the time to encourage reform of the basic rights when establishing the
Corruption Eradication Commission ( KPK ) . Unfortunately , time is limited to
cases after 1999. Similarly, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission ( TRC )
which is not so continued its formation and restructuring of foreign debt that
must be executed . As a result , the momentum was lost and corruption still
could not be removed until today .
So , corruption is not likely disappear ?
There are days where we had dreamed that corruption exists only in the national
museum and there consists of diorama diorama . We also dreamed Indonesia free
of poverty so that our grandchildren can see the diorama brought poverty ,
violation of human rights, labor , and others .
When our grandchildren ask , how corrupt it , I dream it , let's take it to the
national museum . For example , a museum about BLBI , Bank Indonesia Liquidity
Credit ( KLBI ) . There was described the people , then there is a diorama of
how their corruption . It could be , there is a diorama of corruption in the PT
Masaro Radiokom , Bank Indonesia graft dioramas , and other dioramas into our
nation's past .
Can not be a new momentum to restore everything back ?
I think that the momentum it had happened in 2014 , when the national
regeneration occurs , when all political institutions and five arenas will be
filled with a new generation , the generation of non - New Order and non -
Soeharto . I sure can , based on the shift of the current political
regeneration .

My comment about
the purpose of democracy is supposed to give
priority to civil rights, political rights, economic
rights, social rights
and cultural rights
in advance of democracy compared to the profit interests
of individuals or procedural.
